Thanksgiving Day 2015

This year, Thanksgiving was a fun one.  I went to the Macy’s Day parade with my father, his girlfriend and her son and it was a lot of fun.  The sidewalks were full of people and we were behind a line of people.  We were by Columbus Circle and it was mobbed.  I had to stand on my wheelchair to see the parade.  I stood for about half of the parade and then I had to sit.  There were police everywhere.  I watched streams of marching bands and cheerleaders pass through the city streets.  I saw gigantic balloons glide over the people.  They were bigger than life.  There was little to no wind so that was good for the balloons.  One guy was going around selling shirts to remember the parade.  They were $5 so I wanted one.  Dad went for his wallet and the guy just threw me the shirt and walked on.   It was a wonderful experience.

I went home to a wonderful turkey dinner with my family.  Grandma made a lot of food and we enjoyed it all.  Her brother and girlfriend joined us for dinner so that was nice.  I haven’t seen them in a few months so it was nice to see them.  Everybody pitched in by making desserts.  We had chocolate Russian Tea cakes, two apple pies, hats made from fudge cookies, miniature Reese’s peanut butter cups, orange icing and M&M’s and brownies.  Everything was very delicious.  It was nice to see everyone.

We had a wonderful day.

Thanksgiving Break

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I hope everyone has a great day of giving thanks for everything that makes their lives so great and the people in them.  It is a wonderful time to be with family and friends and I hope you guys get to spend time with them.  It is a beautiful holiday to kick off the best time of the year.  I will be going to the Macy’s Day Parade so I am excited for the new experience with my father, his girlfriend and her son.  And then, Thanksgiving dinner will be at my house.

I hope everyone that is that traveling gets to their destination safely and everyone stays warm.  I also hope that you enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner.

Enjoy your day

My Adventure for Today

Tuesday I was watching a few people play pool and I wanted to join them, but I didn’t know if I would be bothering them.  So today, I went over there and I didn’t shoot pool, but I talked to a few people.  And I had a lot of fun.  I told them about myself, how I’m going for school psychology and I gave them my website.  They were a cool group of people.  One was a Creative Writing major and we talked about our writing.  And then, we got to know each other a little bit.

I had fun interacting with them.  I hope to interact with them again.  Maybe make a few friends.

Wish me luck.

No Stirrups, No Saddle

So, in the horse world there is a term No Stirrup November.  It is a practice of riding horseback without stirrups.  I look forward to this every year.  But this past week, I did something that I have not done in a really long time.  I rode bareback.  When my friend told me this, I thought to myself, “Are you serious?  I haven’t done this in many years”.   Nevertheless, there was a handle on the horse.  Thank goodness.  I got on and off we went.

On the horse, I could feel every single movement that the horse ever made.  I did a hill and a trot like this and by the time I finished, I was tired and it was hard to sit up.  My lower back was aching but I was excited that I had this new experience.  I hope to do it again.

Happy Halloween

Dad and I went to the ultimate Halloween event in our area and it was creepy.  I went a few years ago with Dad and Grandpa a few years ago and the place expanded the creepiness.  One person was dressed as a transvestite and they talked to me.  When we were let in, they let the staff know that I was coming.  There were four people ahead of us that we didn’t know and they told the staff that we were with them.  It worked out because they helped us through many obstacles.  This year the haunted house had four parts to it and took 45 minutes to complete.  One part was a cemetery and it was creepy.  It was a good night for it because the air was cold and crisp.  There was a gunman and a guy with a chain saw that really scared me.

One of the characters asked me to type something on my Dynavox so I typed the word “Boo”.  They laughed.  I really had a good time.  It was the best Halloween event I have been to.
