Acceptance Into Rockland Community College’s Paralegal Program

It’s official.  I got into Rockland Community College’s paralegal program.  I will now be able to register for classes.

I’m so excited that I am getting closer to a career that I will enjoy.  Don’t get me wrong.  St. Thomas Acquinas College had a great psychology program but it wasn’t for me.  I have more of an interest in the legal issues than a scientific mind.  I can do mathematical equations, but I don’t like testing a hypothesis.  My grandfather would beg to differ, but I think I have a mind for literature and history.  I love the chronology of wars, social issues and other historical events.  I could especially get lost in American History up to the twentieth century.  In Mass Media, we are discussing Supreme Court cases and I love it.  I love it because I enjoy learning about the Constitution and what led up to the current laws and regulations.  So I think that this is a good career for me.  I’m very excited to get back into Rockland Community College too.  I miss its environment.

I will keep you updated as to how I do in this program.

An Update

Oh my goodness.  I have not blogged in a month.  My apologies.  I have been busy with a heavy course load and I am working towards graduation.  I  just applied for my paralegal program at Rockland Community College.  I hope I get accepted.  I have been doing good in school.  I am meeting a lot of people in school and I just enjoy the school’s environment.  I have been struggling with a class but I will get through it.

A year ago I was freaking out because I didn’t know what I was going to do after St. Thomas Acquinas College.  Now I have a goal that really excites me and I think it’s what I was meant to do.  I wanted to be a paralegal years ago and I don’t know why I dropped the dream.  I really loved my past government classes and I don’t know why I didn’t stay on that track.  I guess that I was still finding myself.  But I now know that this is my right path and I am excited to pursue it.

I think exploration of different career paths is essential to one’s development.  One thing that I have learned is don’t let people persuade you down one path when you want a totally different career.  It is your life and you have to live it your way.  You have to do something that you’re passionate about.  And don’t let anyone talk you out of it.
