After a long summer, I am preparing for a tedious semester at Rockland Community College. This semester, I’m taking State and Local Government, Art Appreciation, Studies in Short Story and Modern Fiction. It’ll be a long day, but they seem like interesting classes. This is my last year at Rockland Community College. Then, I will be attending St. Thomas Aquinas College.
Getting my Associates degree is very rewarding. I have worked very hard to get this far and am blessed to have made it this far. Other people with disabilities should have the drive to attain higher standards. If they did, the world would be a better place.
The church might not had any work for me, but I was offered a chance to write for their magazine. So I took them up on the offer and wrote an article for them. It’s a magazine to inspire so I wrote about my life and how I had the willpower to overcome obstacles in school and beyond.
I love to write about my disability. If the church publishes this, I’m that much closer to raising disability awareness. We, as a community, need to circulate information about having a disability. Otherwise, nobody will understand what we truly stand for. So let’s get our voices heard!
